Position Summary:

We are looking for professional Servers for Bon Appetit who are passionate about creating authentic, custom experiences with a high level of attention and service excellence to our guests. Our best servers have a sense of entrepreneurship to maximize their potential income at Dunedin’s finest waterfront restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining!

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • Greet guests with eye contact and a smile.
  • Know our menu and how food is prepared to make appropriate recommendations.
  • Entice guests to order appetizers, featured items and weekly specials.
  • Check timing of food orders and communicate any errors or delays to appropriate staff.
  • Deliver food promptly and correctly by guest choice.
  • Consistently monitor assigned guest tables for food quality and guest needs.
  • Practice “Acknowledge, Apologize, Act” relating to any guest complaints.
  • Offer desserts and after dinner beverages.
  • Prepare accurate checks and offer payment options.
  • Thank guests for visiting and invite them to return.
  • Keep station and work areas organized, clean and assist in team duties (side stand, etc.)
  • Perform any other task as assigned for the successful operation of the restaurant.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of server experience in a high volume fine dining restaurant.
  • Positive attitude with interpersonal skills to interact and enhance the guest experience.
  • Must be able to stand and work in a fast-paced environment for periods of over eight (8) hours in length.
  • Strong verbal and attentive listening skills.
  • Flexible and dependable to work full-time, weekends and holidays, indoors and outdoors.
  • Experience with POSitouch handheld system is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver food quickly in a friendly manner to right table or station.
  • Transfer used dishes, glasses, and flatware to kitchen.

Position: Line Cook

Summary:

Responsible for all grilled, broiled, roasted or fried items prepared in the kitchen. Portioning food items prior to cooking of what is on menu. Assist in banquet preparation and cooking. Cooks vegetables. Other duties include carving, plating and garnishing dishes. Assist in soup and sauce making. Responsible for maintaining a sanitary kitchen work station and food storage area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complies with quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and select cuts of meat, poultry, shellfish, fish, game or vegetables used in preparation of menu items.
  • Prepares garnishes for broiled and roasted dishes.
  • Prepares other items needed at broiler station such as vegetables, starches, appetizers or desserts that may be glazed in broiler.
  • Sets up and maintain soups throughout the day, as well as appropriate garnishes.
  • Broil and plate meats, poultry, shellfish, fish, game or vegetables, along with appropriate garnish.
  • Roasts, carves and plates meats, poultry, shellfish, fish, game or vegetables.
  • Maintains a sanitary work environment including areas where food is prepared and stored.
  • Selects and uses knives, hand tools, utensils and equipment to cut, slice, broil, roast, carve, skewer, garnish foods. Maintains holding temperature for foods, grills, or otherwise produces food in the broiler station.
  • Assist in any other capacity required in the operation.
  • Tastes all food prepared to ensure flavor, texture and consistency and see that items meet established quality standards.
  • Must be available to work all shifts as scheduled.
  • Perform any other task that is assigned for the successful operations of the company.

Qualifications:

High School graduate (GED), degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program is desirable. Minimum of 1 year in a food preparation position in a restaurant setting.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests, managers, employees, dining room staff ; stand and move about the kitchen for periods over 8 hours. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds in weight. Must have good sense of smell, taste, site and touch to understand foods and presentation. possess finger dexterity to use small tools adeptly; read and follow written instructions; possess good smell and taste abilities and be able to do repetitive motions.

Position: Dishwasher

Summary:

Café Alfresco is looking for Dishwashers who are passionate about keeping the back of the house clean and sanitized. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining the kitchen area and all the equipment in a sanitary and safe manner. As a Dishwasher, you are an integral part of the team delivering a guest-centric dining experience in one of Dunedin’s finest restaurants!

Primary Duties:

  • Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen, including walls and floors.
  • Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensils, especially during peak hours.
  • Wash specific items by hand (i.e., wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate China)
  • Store all kitchen ware in their proper places.
  • Remove trash regularly.
  • Ensure machines are clean and in proper working order and report any technical/performance issues.
  • Assist in daily kitchen and food preparation.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned for the successful operation of the restaurant.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is a plus.
  • This is an entry level position but previous experience as a Dishwasher is highly desirable.
  • Positive attitude with attention to detail and sanitation procedures.
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment and able to stand and move for over eight (8) hours.
  • Flexible and dependable to work full-time shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to communicate and follow orders in English.

Position: Server

Salary Range: $15.00 – $25.00 including tips

Summary:

Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age. Take direct orders from guest in a friendly manner, record orders accurately into register system. Respond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion.
Attempt to limit problems related to customers’ excessive drinking by following established procedures, process transactions using the POS system. Process customer payments Customer service orientation, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, team player, cable to handle a fast-paced work environment, dependable, honesty and have integrity. Responsible for plating deserts.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma, minimum age requirement of 18 years old to serve drinks. 

Physical Demands:

Be able to lift up to 30 pounds in weight.
